Scott Lyons Fielding was born on February 2, 1959, in Staunton, Virginia, and was educated in
the Public Schools of Staunton. He served 23 years in the United States Army, both Active and
Reserve, and retired as an Infantry First Sergeant. Scott was hired by the Virginia Department of
Corrections in 1980 and retired in 2010 as a supervisor with Thirty Years of Service. On October
12, 1985, he married Sylvia Gay Conner. They have one child, Meghan Elizabeth Fielding, and
one grandchild, Reagan Elizabeth Fielding-Cotton.
Scott was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on May 28, 1980, at Staunton Lodge
No. 13 and is a Life Member in Perpetuity. He served as Worshipful Master at Staunton Lodge
No. 13 in 1989 and Augusta Lodge No. 111 in 1997. He holds dual membership to Highland
Lodge No. 110 and is a Life Member in Perpetuity. Scott served as District Deputy Grand Master
for the 19th Masonic District in 2015 under Most Worshipful Reese Carrol. Currently, he serves
on the Grand Lodge of Virginia Credentials Committee.
Scott became a member of the Valley of Richmond on November 22, 1980. He became a proud
Shriner on June 6, 1981, and is a Life Member in Perpetuity of ACCA Shrine in Richmond. Scott
belongs to the ACCA Legion of Horner and Past Master’s Club.
The York Rite journey began on June 19, 1990, when he was Exalted into the Royal Arch and
served as High Priest and Deputy Grand High Priest in 2023. Scott became a Stevenson
Commandery No. 8 member on January 19, 1991, and is a Life Member in Perpetuity. He served
as Commander from 1993 to 1995 and District Deputy Grand Commander for District No. 5 in
2017-2018. Scott also is a member of Alleghany Commandery No. 23.
